Even though many thought that Tom Watson would be winning, it is Stewart Cink who won the British Open this time.

Stewart Cink won the British Open after a playoff with Tom Watson. Watson had already won 6 times and was trying to be the oldest gold champion in history but he missed an 8-foot putt to win on the 72nd hole, forcing a four-hole playoff with Stewart Cink. Watson fell apart at the third extra hole, Stewart Cink made a birdie and the rest was history.

Seve Ballestero Health Condition - Golf legend Seve Ballestero is recovering from his third operation on a brain tumor he has on the right side of this brain.

Seve Ballestero, 51 years old, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October. He is currently in Madrid, Spain in La Paz Hospital. The hospital released a statement saying:

“Seve Ballesteros continues to evolve favorably. He is conscious, is breathing spontaneously and can talk with his family. He has begun to receive rehabilitation treatment in the intensive care unit.”
