“Singer Sean Levert, a third of the 1980s R&B trio LeVert and son of lead O’Jays singer Eddie Levert, has died after falling ill while serving a jail term. He was 39.” - AP
Levert was serving time in Jail for failing to pay child support. Although he was found ill at the Jail, he died at the Lutheran Hospital in Clevend Sunday night.
His death was not a surprise as Warden Kevin McDonough said that Levert was acting strangely and hallucinating. This could have been due to his high pressure. However an autopsey will be profermed, but a toxicology report will take about 4-6 weeks.
It’s said to see two brothers pass away at such young ages. It must be even harder for father, Eddie Levert. We send our condolences out to the Levert family.
Sean Levert was brother of also deceased Gerald Levert, a known solo artist that passed away in 2006 at 40 from an accidental mix of prescriptions.
