Oscar De La Hoya Announces Retirement - Oscar De La Hoya has officially announced that he will be retiring from professional boxing.

Also known as The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, now 36 years old, held a press conference in L.A today in which he said:
“I’m announcing my retirement. When I can’t compete at my highest level, it’s not fair — to me, [or] my fans. Knowing that you’re never going to compete again is a tough decision, but now I am looking forward to the future of boxing. When I cannot compete at this level, I have come to the conclusion that it is over.”
Oscar De La Hoya has lost his last fights and believes that he just doesn’t have what it takes anymore, although he was at the top of his game when he first started but maybe it is best he retire now before he ruins his reputation of a winner.
