Ed Thomas Shooting

Aplington-Parkersburg High School officials confirmed that athletic director Ed Thomas was this Wednesday morning in the school’s weight room.

The gunman opened fire killing coach Ed Thomas. After the gunman was arrested and taken into custody. Ed Thomas was just 58 years old. He was a great coach that helped the team through tough times including when the school was destroyed by a tornado in 2008.

According to the Waterloo Courier the event occurred around 7:47 am and the suspect in this shooting is Mark Becker who was a player on the school team but currently under psychiatric evaluation.
