Zicam Nasal Spray Recall...

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning for Zicam, a cold remedy nasal gel, because it can cause damage to your sense of smell.

The Zicam nasal spray is an over-the-counter product. The FDA has issued a warning against three of the Zicam products which include: nasal gel, nasal swabs and kids size swabs. This warning comes after 130 people reported having anosmia, losing their sense of smell, after using Zicam.

Unfortunately Zicam was considered as a herbal supplement and therefore was not considered as a drug and did not have to get approved by the government to be sold. Now the FDA will require Zicam to get government approval.

The manufacturer of Zicam, Matrixx, insists that their product is safe despite many consumers reporting these health problems. So be sure to stay away from Zicam products! That’s the news on Zicam Nasal Spray Recall.
