Banned Spongebob Burger King Commercial - For many the new Burger Kind commercial for kids meal is unappropriated while others think it is hilarious, watch the video here and comment.
The commercial is made to promote the 99 cent kid’s meals that come with Spongebob Squarepants toys. The BK king sings a version of Sir Mix-a-lot - Baby Got Back but instead saying Spongebob got back.
Although this maybe a funny commercial, parents think it is very unappropiate for children since it mentions words like “booty”. In some states they have banned or will be banning this commercial such as in Illinois. What do you think about the Spongebob Burger King Commercial?

That’s it. I give up. I f***ing give up. This is too much. For all of the people who think this in inappropriate I hope michael myers comes to you in your sleep and scares you so much, you’ll have to visit a therapist daily. You’ll be a retarded mess. Wait a second, apparently it’s too late for that. You know what? I’ve seen rocks that are smarter than you ***holes. I personally think that violence is a motivator in life. Without it, we wouldn’t be where we are today. That’s why all of my video games are rated M. And I’m 11. Think about it, if kids had no idea about sex, they would never know until they’re 14 or something. So, congratulations you s*** eating wrecks, you have officially become the world wide web’s most retarded users. Here’s your trophy. >:(
Actually, yes, I believe that their little minds are fine. By the way, I’m 11, yes, I own a cellphone, yes, I have a girlfrind, and yes I’ve known about sex since I was 6. Again, all of you people who are dripping with raving paranoia, need, to, f*** off!!!!!!
Oh my god. Whoever thinks this is a inappropriate seriously needs to get a ****ing life. I mean christ, who would ban a commercial like this? I fell off my couch when I saw it. So, I say again, for those extremely paranoid parents who are just overreacting, please, just admit you’re a ****tard who needs to have sex with something other than their dog!
REALLY??? Ummm wow. People need to get a life. If you feel that sponge bob and bk are gonna warp your kids minds … then u need to evaluate how paper thin you installed the morality in your kids. And oh no a wiggleing butt. Really? C’mon! Your kids are exposed to much more then u think. All the time … from the skanks and pedofiles at disney and the pot heads and drunks at pbs … to even your own perversity.
And that song “Spongebob got back” you can hear it played in in schools. And carnivals and anywhere ppl go. To conclude I resort to this.
SPONGE BOB … IS A …. SPONGE! No sex organs not gay not some satanic icon of perversity …. a F**king sponge!
And burger kings food rocks. Stop being afraid of what your kids are learning on tv and spend time with them and teach them yourselves.

First of all, I think most of you are confusing Burger King’s response. If they said that the commercial is meant to be aired during adult viewing, that does not mean it runs only at night. Obviously, if you have seen that commercial during the day, and you are an adult, then you watch t.v. during the day. What they mean, is that the commercial is only set to air on channels with primarily adult viewing. Not many children have on soap operas during the day, or news, or any of the other “adult” stations. And to the best of my knowledge, none of your children have seen this commercial on their stations correct? So, then it becomes explicitly YOUR decision to watch “adult” t.v. stations around your children. If you don’t want your children to see such things; if you prefer to have your children to stay sheltered until you have the chance to discuss such matters with them, then turn off the t.v. when they are around; or, turn on one of their stations, like so many mothers say they do.
I would like to point out, however, that slowly but surely, television will infiltrate our children’s minds anyway. It is easy to point a finger at Burger King, because the innuendo in the commercial is blatantly obvious, but the sad part about it is, children are more influenced by the disguised, then by what it displayed right in front of them. A few of you mentioned ONLY letting your children watch PBS and Disney. That’s very interesting, as I feel Disney is much more harmful than any commercial I have ever seen. Have any of you ever sat down to watch one of the “afternoon” Disney shows? It has been a while since I have seen anything on Disney, but I for one, would not want my daughter to dress or act like Hannah Montana, or act like the other brats on the pseudo sitcoms they show. If you want to talk about degradation of society, I believe Disney is the first place to point a finger. Teaching your child to be disrespectful, arrogant and selfish? Children as young as 10 having cell phones and talking to boys on them? Are you serious?
Whether or not you agree with Burger King in that the commercial was aimed for adults, it doesn’t matter. Burger King has to report to no one as far as matters involving children are concerned. Disney, however, does, and who is pointing the fingers at them? If you think that a Burger King commercial can uproot what you have taught your child, then perhaps you should take the time that you spent writing to the FCC, Burger King, and on this blog, and spend it with said child.
Coming from the advertising industry, I’ll let you in on a little secret. You want to know what gets a commercial off the air? When it doesn’t get attention and fails to promote the brand it’s associated with. If you Google this ad, you’ll find the buzz it has generated is dominated by those complaining the loudest. People who’ve never seen this ad run in their local market are finding these articles on the internet and watching it on YouTube - over a half million views as of this writing. Burger King should be sending you guys a check for all the free advertising.
iam disgusted with the commerical.have been calling burger to complain but of course the lines are busy or they are closed .that is not a commerical for children.and i do know that we will not be going to burger king.
I recently saw the BK SpongeBob commerical featuring Sir Mix-A-Lots and yes I was highly offended. This is an inappropriate commerical for children to see in my strong opinion. I have written the BK corp about it and got a rather slack answer back from them. I have written yet another letter to them and have also contacted other media outlets to get my opinion out there and hopefully put a stop to this flithy, sexual commerical that should be banned from TV. BK’s argument in the letter to me was that The commerical is advertising the 99 cent BK kids meal which they state is a value meal based offer aimed at adults and requires an adult BK Value Meal purchase. They go further to state that this value offering enables the entire family to enjoy an affordable quality meal and they also state that the SpongeBob commerical featuring Sir Mix-A-Lots is targeted to adults and is explictly played during shows that target adult audiences. I beg to differ with them. I have seen this commerical playing at 3pm in the afternoon. Needless to say I will not stop until this commerical is off the air entirely.
Isn’t it funny that the people for this commerical are saying to the people that are NOT for the commerical to get a life or cussing at you for your opinion? Just a thought and some people are telling some whoppers lol like the 14 year old-yeah sure. anyway here’s a link to file a complaint with the FCC!

I was just watching the commercial at about 1:30 a.m. and it now says: for a 99 cent ADULT value meal. Are you kidding me? Well, it looks like the thugs over at Burger King took note and are trying to legally wiggle their way out of this one. But for the most part we don’t buy it. This commercial has to be the most offensive junk I’ve seen in a while. The good thing is if you talk to your kids about this type of junk then you can maybe do some damage control. It’s the parents that don’t care that their kids just act out and actually start acting like these sleazy dancers. Thanks BK for making another obstacle for parents, if there isn’t already enough to worry about.
It’s not calling attention to young girls butts, just SQUARE Butts! Lol, Have you guys even SEEN the show?? Yes, I guess there’s a couple lines that should not be in there but it’s meant to be funny! I think some of you are making to big of a deal about this!!
WTF Guys, this commercial is all #*3d up. Actually i could do without hearing this gay commercial go off everytime i try to watch TV, i actually dive for my mute button… sad…so sad.
Who whooped his A$$ was it The burger king guy? That son of a bi#$h
So what’s next Burger King? Drug dealers and Gang bangers doing drive by’s. All I can say is that THE KING of burgers is now the facilitator of smut propaganda. Our kids will now think it’s okay to associate hamburgers a favorite American pastime with square butts and lyrics that belong in the gutter with the brilliant marketing team that came up with this filth. Evidently the individuals that are cursing apparently have become a product of such filth. They say as children you mimic what you see. Well it is clearly evident the parents of these people cursing to try and make a point are a chip off the old block. It is just appalling that Burger King has resorted to sex to sell food to kids. I rank them right up there with the pedophiles of the world. I will never eat at Burger king again. Come on America enough is enough. And to all the people saying the commercial is ohhhhh so good. What until your daughters come home because they got raped or your sons get arrested for sexual crimes. Yea it starts with morals people and evidently Burger King does not have it.
Parents have every right to be disgusted. This is not overtly sexual, but it is suggestive–and it is a commercial about a KID’S MEAL aimed at KIDS who watch Spongebob (and we know the numbers are high).
As for the idiots who say “So what?” take a look at clinical studies to see what sexually charged images, as subtle as they may be, do to kids. Do you really think it’s healthy to expose children to everything? Do you think just because they’re “young” it won’t affect them?
Ignorance must be the largest epidemic to be introduced to mankind.
The Burger King ad is the best commercial I have seen! The King has the moves down and Sir Mix Alot does a great job with his “Booty is booty” lines.
This commercial isn’t offensive and everyone who thinks it is needs to grow up. While it draws attention to girls behinds, it is for Spongebob and that show in itself could be considered offensive. Spongebob has nudity, violence and even an episode where all they do is swear and cover it up with noises, so please people, where is the harm in this once you children have viewed the show at all? I personally think it is very funny. I know I’ll go there all the time. Cool it people, it’s just tv. You can’t shelter your kids ever. Every heard of the Cottonelle Generation? Congrats, you made it. By the way, I’m only fourteen and can figure all this out by myself, you guys need some help with what your kids are viewing in the first place. Lighten up…
Umm… All of you who are on here cussing are the idiots… Whoever uses cuss words such as f*** and P****** don’t care enough to watch what they say around their kids, much less care what they see… I personally saw this commercial air during the day and I don’t want my little 4 year old cousin walking around singing “Baby Got Back” because we’re a Pentecostal family and we shouldn’t have to worry about our kids going around singing garbage like this for a NICKELODEON CARTOON!!! That’s the bad thing… I personally had this little boy to come up and slap me on MY butt… He probably got the idea from this stupid commercial…
yall are all stupid idiots its a annoying comercial but it aint perveted at all.
I think that yes, children are going to hear about sex and about butts naturally. But I think that it’s better if they hear about through their parents, not from the tv. They need to know that a sexual relationship is not about who has the best butt.
That’s not appropriate for the age that they are advertising for. Children aren’t mentally prepared for the fact that tv isn’t how real life is. Comemrcials on tv show children how other people are thinking. If children think that it’s ok to exploit someone’s body to make money when their young, how do you think they are going to think when they’re older.
It’s a disgusting commercial. I turn the channel every time it comes on when I’m watching children.
Kids get into anything that seems cool. The commercial is different, so kids pay attention to it. It’s natural for them. But there are so many other ways that someone could make a commercial different. You don’t need sex to do it.
you people who think its wrong, are completely stubborn assholes. think about it, in your perverted heads its a sexually explict commercial, but if your kid can see that then you have done a great job at fucking their mind up and it shouldnt matter what you let them watch. Ims sure any kid that saw the commercial didnt think it was any different than any other. completely stupid ass pussies like you are the real problem, go fuck yourselves
What a bunch of wet blankets. Children will hear stuff from other all over the place. Continue shielding them from the world and perhaps they will grow up to be morons like those bitchin about a stupid commercial. I wil admit that the commercial is not the brightest idea, but I’ve seen much worse crap on television. People need to grow up and get a hobby.
who ever the guy is who is boycotting this is retarted!
this commercial is the shizz-nit i dont know what ya talkin about the commercial is good keep it up.
sexual inuindos to children and a hip hop thug saying “booty is booty”??? Burger king and Nickelodean should be embarrassed and I hope others boycott them as I will.
My Mom pointed out the commercial and she is fuming over it, when I saw it I realized this is why my 6 year old nephew is suddenly walking around singing baby got back. I’m only 27 and pretty open minded and even I am so offended that I will not be eating at Burger King anytime soon.
It is so not about “booty.” Big square-booty deal on that one.
This commercial is deeply offensive because it uses very adult themes, crossed with a beloved children’s character to sell a product for children.
I can protect my kids from messages that are very clearly not for them. An ad for Burger King featuring images from SpongeBob should not have to be on my no list.
Burger King’s insistence that this is targeted at adults is ludicrous. Their claim that it only runs late at night is also absolutely false and an outright lie.
Were this ad for the Whopper, I still wouldn’t like it but it would not have bothered me quite as much… because that’s an adult product. (Although the message would be entirely different — I like big butts, and that’s exactly what you’ll get eating a whopper, now that’s what I call a whopper?)
This commercial is definitley not just about the word “booty” i just watched the whole commercial, you dont see the whole commercial on tv. It is offensive in many more ways then just the word “booty”. I think the kids see enough garbage in the real world and on tv nowadays without adding other commercials obviously attracting attention to women on a burger king commercial. People say sex sells, not with children, it’s pathetic that anyone with half a brain would even make such a commercial for young children to watch. They obviously are having a hard time with their company if they have to resort to sex to sell their food at burger king…..
This commercial is sickening. Any commercial or program calling attention to young girls butts on public TV is not acceptable by any standards and should be removed immediately. It’s bad enough we already have to filter immoral programs and garbage shows presented on most channels today, from the eyes of our young children. Now, an all American food chain is stooping to this level to sell burgers. It’s just another example of the deterioration in standards of modern day media and we the people are getting fed up. Where has good programing decision making gone? Where have those who used commonsense, morals, intelligence and good clean humor in the decision making of what is considered appropriate standards, gone?
I guess everyone is just sitting back and letting the evil, that has infiltrated all forms the media business, take over. Well, I’ll tell you what, this kind of trash may sell crap music to our teens, who think it’s cool because they aren’t offered much by way of better alternatives but, it isn’t going to sell burgers to families or people fed up with this sort of thing being used in promotions. Who ever the moron was that allowed this commercial to be released may have just doomed Burger King or at leased drastically hurt sales especially if America decides to boycott them because of it. This just might be the straw that pushes people to their limit. Our whole family as well as most people we know have already decided to no longer support Burger King.
Someone ought to wake up and pull it off the air now, if it isn’t already too late.
dont let your kids watch tv.dont let them talk to their friends ,and theyll never hear the word “booty”
What is so new about the advertising media polluting the minds of our children?
