Marine Corps Marathon 2009...
Marine Corps Marathon 2009 -Registrations are open for the Marine Corps Marathon along with the Army 10 Miler.
Both Marathons are limited to just 30,000 competitors. Spots go out quick and usually sell out overnight. The Marine Corps Marathons run offers both a 10K and a Marathon. There is also a Healthy Kids Fun Run where kids ages 6 to 13 can participate. The Marine Corp’s Marathon 2009 will be on October 25.

Organizers of the Marine Corps Marathon 2009 say:
Do I need a qualifying time to participate?
You do not need a qualifying time for the “People’s Marathon”. You must maintain A 14-minute mile pace to Beat the Bridge (14th Street Bridge) by 1:15pm.
Can I walk this marathon?
Marathoner’s will need to maintain a 14-minute mile pace to Beat the Bridge. All runners must reach the 14th Street Bridge by 1:15pm. At that time, the bridge will reopen to vehicular traffic. If a runner does not reach the 14th Street Bridge on time, they will have to board a straggler’s bus back to the finish festival. If a runner is determined to continue on then that runner assumes full responsibility of his or her safety.
